The Hope, Compassion and Mercy Foundation (HCMF) is proud to announce the nomination of Rabi Jimeta and Saudatu Mahdi, MFR, to its Board of Trustees, pending formal ratification by the Governing Council.
This milestone underscores the Foundation’s deep and deliberate commitment to gender equity, ensuring that women are not only represented in leadership but are central to shaping decisions that affect health, education, and livelihoods across Nigeria. By nominating two seasoned, principled women to its governing board, HCMF reaffirms its belief that sustainable development cannot be achieved without women in power and at the table.
“Inclusive leadership is not optional—it is essential,” said Dr. Ismail Jibrin, Co-Founder of HCMF. “Rabi and Saudatu have spent their lives building systems that serve people with fairness and integrity. Their presence on the board will strengthen our governance and deepen our commitment to gender equality.”
Rabi Jimeta, a former Federal Permanent Secretary in several key ministries—including Special Duties (Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation), Science and Technology, Environment, Youth Development, and Water Resources—brings more than three decades of experience in public service, policy development, and institutional reform. Known for her pragmatic leadership and deep regional expertise, she has helped design and implement systems that promote equity, inclusion, and results-driven development.

Saudatu Mahdi, MFR, is Secretary-General of the Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA), and one of Nigeria’s leading voices in gender justice. With over 40 years of experience in education, civic advocacy, and legal empowerment, she has been instrumental in advancing women’s rights, strengthening democratic values, and holding institutions accountable to those they serve.

This nomination aligns with HCMF’s founding values of inclusion, empathy, and justice—and with its broader strategy to build a governance structure that reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.
The appointments of Ms. Jimeta and Ms. Mahdi signal a new chapter for HCMF—one in which women’s leadership is recognized not as exceptional, but as essential to lasting change.
The Governing Council will review the nominations in its upcoming session, after which formal induction processes will commence.
