Shuaibu Idris, mni, is a distinguished business leader, financial strategist, and corporate governance expert who brings over 35 years of cross-industry experience to the Board of Human Capital Managers (HCM). He joined the HCM Board to support the company’s mission in delivering innovative, technology-driven workforce solutions to enterprises and government institutions across Nigeria.
As a member of HCM’s Board of Directors, Mr. Idris plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction. He provides high-level advisory on corporate governance, financial oversight, and risk management, ensuring that HCM continues to operate with transparency, efficiency, and integrity. He is also instrumental in helping senior management implement policies that promote ethical compliance and address potential conflicts of interest across the organization.
Before joining Human Capital Managers, Mr. Idris built an extensive career spanning banking, investment, public service, and corporate leadership. He began his professional journey at the Kaduna State Board of Internal Revenue, then moved to Chase Merchant Bank where he gained experience in operations, treasury, corporate finance, and investment banking. He later held executive roles at Lakeside Investment Limited, Liberty Bank Plc., and the Dangote Group, where he served in various leadership capacities including Deputy Managing Director/COO of the Flour Milling Group. He is also actively involved in several NGOs and sits on the boards of various companies in the financial, manufacturing, and media sectors.
Mr. Idris earned a B.Sc. in Accountancy from Bayero University, Kano, and a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Wales, UK, as a British Council Scholar. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, Lagos Business School, and Cambridge Judge Business School. He is also a Fellow of several professional institutions including the Institute of Directors (IoD), Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), among others.
Mr. Idris is passionate about leadership development, corporate ethics, and social impact. Through his work at HCM, he continues to contribute significantly to building a more agile, accountable, and future-ready workforce ecosystem in Nigeria.
