She served as Federal Permanent Secretary in several key ministries, including Special Duties (Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation), Science and Technology, Environment, Youth Development, and Water Resources. In each of these roles, she championed bold policy reforms, improved administrative efficiency, and fostered greater transparency and service delivery.
From 2020 to 2025, she served as Chairperson of the Gombe State Civil Service Commission, where she led far-reaching reforms in recruitment, performance management, and institutional governance — significantly advancing the state’s human capital development.
A long-standing advocate for women’s leadership and education, particularly in Northern Nigeria, she has held educational leadership roles including as Principal of the Women Teachers College, Kano. Her efforts have empowered countless women and girls through expanded access to quality education and leadership opportunities.
She is a Member of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration, and an active member of several professional associations. Her outstanding service has earned her numerous national honors and recognition.
Mrs. Jimeta currently serves on the Board of Human Capital Managers Ltd (HCM) as well as the HCM Foundation, where she brings her vast governance experience and policy insight to support institutional development and inclusive impact.
