Since 1999, she has served as Secretary General of the Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA) — a leading organization advancing the rights of women and girls in Nigeria. Under her leadership, WRAPA has become a national force in legal rights education, civic literacy, and economic empowerment for women across diverse communities.
A former educator and registrar in the Bauchi State education system, she brings a strong foundation in public administration to her extensive consultancy work with institutions such as UNDP, UN Women, the British Council, and others. Her advisory roles have spanned gender policy, legal reform, and social inclusion initiatives at both national and international levels.
In recognition of her lifelong contributions, she was awarded the national honor of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR). She remains a powerful advocate for equity, dignity, and institutional accountability.
Ms. Mahdi currently serves on the Boards of both Human Capital Managers Ltd (HCM) and the HCM Foundation, where she contributes strategic guidance, policy insight, and a deep commitment to inclusive human development.
